 RE: INFORMATION FROM THE SPECIAL UNIVERSITY COUNCIL  MEETING HELD  ON 29th NOVEMBER 2011 SJUT/DVCPF/MEM/2011/12001
Please note the following message from the Chairman of the University Council:
The COUNCIL of St John’s University of Tanzania (SJUT) met on Tuesday, 29th  November   2011   to deliberate   on   several   issues   of   interest   to   the progress of the University in general and the welfare of Staff and Students  of SJUT. Amongst those issues, the COUNCIL discussed and set in motion  the process of   the  Appointment   of   the  Vice   Chancellor   of   SJUT,   in accordance with its official Guidelines and Procedures for the Appointment of Top Leaders. COUNCIL resolved to form a Search Committee comprised of duly-qualified,  reputable, experienced people.  An advertisement for the  vacant position of the Vice Chancellor of SJUT will shortly appear in the press and on the University’s website. The Search Committee will compile a short   list  which will  be  scrutinised by COUNCIL  and  the  BOARD OF TRUSTEES so that an appointment is made by 15th December 2011.Meanwhile, all Staff and Students are urged to be calm, to be patient and to continue to work together peacefully. Let us pray for this process so that it is completed successfully.
